Wrapping up 2022
It’s the time of the year.
As we are approaching the very end of 2022, I wanted to take this little quiet time to reflect — on 2022, what a year!
Personally, it’s fulfilling:
- Read 300 ish books this year — mostly novels 😃;
- Learned the basics of Golang;
- Finished my first Python project in production;
- Transitioned me into a wholly new role, for the first time in my 20 years career;
- Travelled to 4 countries shortly after the world started re-opening.
And, of course, the not-so-bright-siders:
- Far from my home town for 4 years – still counting;
- Devastated and helpless by the turmoil that happened in Apr and the present, in my home town.
We have seen most probably the historical year of man-made disasters – from The war in Ukraine, humanitarian tragedies in China, sky-rocketing inflation worldwide, the energy crisis in the EU, the lasting pandemic and many many more…
However, there are hopes that arise – they always do. As we humans, tended to be resilient, solidarity and determined – but only when there is a crisis or disaster.
That keeps me wondering:
When can humans learn from that and behave when the days are normal?
Professionally, I wrote 17 articles this year – 7 on Medium.com, and another 10 on JumpCloud Community:
Tags: Scripting, Templating, and automation
Tags: Best Practises, and solutions
That seems a lot, but can be more. 😉
Looking out to 2023 as the time marches towards, pessimistic sentiments are widely expressed in almost every aspect, me too.
But, I would stay optimistic — there is always hope, silver lining and opportunities around the corner waiting to be uncovered. This is how humanity evolves, eventually. I won’t stop being better — 1% every day 😄.
So, here is a quick note to the future me:
Stay calm, and keep learning.
Merry Xmas, and happy holidays everyone!
